Searching the Online Catalog
To search for books on your topic, go to the Milner Library website. In the right hand column under "Shortcuts", click on Catalog.
To
find books on a specific topic, use the Advanced Search,
and select the Subject option.
To locate primary
sources, add terms such as Sources, Correspondence,
Diaries, Personal narratives, Oral
history,
or Interviews to
your subject search.
To request that books be retrieved for you from the regular shelves, from Basement Storage
or from Storage North, login to your Catalog account. [ If you have not requested materials
previously, click on “Create New Account”.] When you find the book you need, click on Request.
For materials not
available in Milner Library, use the “Catalog” link,
but expand your search by choosing the “All I-Share Libraries”
option. Materials from I-Share libraries may also be
requested.
To search for books
and other materials in libraries worldwide, use WorldCat --
available under Shortcuts
Databases.
